Rupert Murdoch’s Son Resigns From News Corp

James Murdoch has resigned from the board of News Corporation.

Ruper Murdoch’s son James has resigned from the board of News Corporation, citing “disagreements over certain editorial content”.

In a resignation letter filed on Friday, the youngest son of the media mogul told the company he was quitting with immediate effect.

He wrote: “Ladies and Gentlemen: I hereby tender my resignation as a member of the Board of Directors of News Corporation (the “Company”), effective as of the date hereof.

“My resignation is due to disagreements over certain editorial content published by the Company’s news outlets and certain other strategic decisions.”

The exact nature of the disagreements or the news outlets in question were not detailed.

Rupert Murdoch and his other son Lachlan, co-chairman of News Corporation, released a joint statement on Friday saying.

The statement read: “We’re grateful to James for his many years of service to the company. We wish him the very best in his future endeavours.”

News Corporation owns media outlets across the world including The Times and The Sunday Times, The Sun in the UK, the New York Post and the Wall Street Journal in the US, as well as The Australian and The Herald Sun in Australia.
