Robin Scott / Presenter
Robin Scott shows
Robin Scott is a wealth of musical history knowledge and his shows revolve around the great music that may have slipped your notice, and a few that would definitely spark a few memories.
The first record he ever bought was ‘There’s a Ghost in my House’ by R Dean Taylor in 1974 (not knowing at the time it was a Northern Soul Smash!)
In the mid to late 1970’s Rock n’ Roll & Rockabilly was making a big comeback and thats when he wanted to discover more about these styles of music.
In the early 1980’s Robin started running small Rockabilly clubs and managing bands; getting involved with bands such as The Polecats, Restless, The Deltas and The Poorboys, whilst at the same time putting compilation LPs together for numerous record companies.
After moving from Harrow, Middx to Lincolnshire, then onto Northamptonshire, it was here that he got more into Ska & Northern Soul.
Robin says, “looking back, my love of music extends to Punk & New Wave, Country & Americana style genres and I love to introduce this kind of music to new and old listeners alike so you can find all these styles I have mentioned right here on my shows, exclusive to Daventry Radio!”
A veteran of putting on rockabilly nights in London, Robin brings his dry humour and sharp patter to shows such as the Punk and New Wave Review and the Rhythm n’ Booze Hour, plus one offs and specials like his 3 part on Americana Boogie.
