Illegal Sheep Butchery, Three Men Appear In Court


Three men have appeared in Court over the Illegal slaughtering of sheep and lambs across Northamptonshire, including in fields at Kelmarsh, Clipston and Welford.

Robert Iordan, 23, Florin Nutu, 35 and Voirel Manu, 38, who are all from Birmingham, are accused of conspiracy to steal, in relation to the illegal butchery of animals over a four month period from June this year.

Northampton Magistrates heard up to 350 sheep and lambs have been killed and suffered a painful death as a result, causing distress to the animals, farmers and the public.

The three men, who were arrested after ten sheep were killed in a field near Welford on Sunday night, spoke via a Romanian translator to confirm their names and addresses.

They been remanded in custody to appear at Northampton Crown Court in November
